Spiritual Life

Spiritual Life at JPS

Intellectual freedom and religious tolerance define any vital and diverse academic community. Jyothi Public School is rooted in the Christian traditions and supports students as they enter into a process of spiritual as well as intellectual self-discovery. Students and faculty are encouraged to deepen their knowledge and understanding of the role of religion in culture and to address how individual religious views are informed by the obligations of being a responsible member of our fully residential School and our world.

The Chapel serves as a gathering place and a visible focal point of community life. We gather in Chapel to hear addresses, meditations, student performances, prayers, and readings from sacred texts. Students have the opportunity in Chapel to learn more about their own and other religious traditions. The Chapel welcomes people from all backgrounds: people of faith from around the world, those who are searching for spiritual meaning, people who have no explicit religious conviction, and Christians from all denominations.
