Admission Policy
- Jyothi Public school admits all students– irrespective of nationality, colour, gender, religion, caste, creed or ability levels – as long as they fulfil all the other admission criteria.
- Jyothi Public school is an equal opportunity institution with strict provisions and established procedures for screening suitable candidates from all those applying for admission. The first important criterion is the need to limit admissions to a certain number of students per class as also per section. This will ensure high quality interaction between students and teachers. The students seeking admission into JP School need to understand the unique features of the school’s curriculum, and present a matching wavelength compatible to the school’s philosophy.
- Jyothi Public school admits students in to every class it operates – provided there are vacancies – except in classes X and XII.
- The exact number of students to be admitted every year depends on the seats that fall vacant after students who do not wish to continue at OIS withdraw from the school.
- Registration does not guarantee admission to the school; it only ensures that a candidate may appear for the admission test.
- Admissions to all Pre-Primary classes are based only on observation sessions of candidates and interviews with candidates’ parents/guardians.
- Admissions to classes I and above are a two step process. First, candidates appear for a written test in English and mathematics conducted in the school premises. In the second step of the admissions process, candidates who qualify in the written test appear for a personal interview. The overall performance of a candidate in the written test and the personal interview determines whether the concerned candidate is admitted or not.
- The institution gives certain consideration to direct siblings of students currently in school or former students of the school.
Other Criteria
- The parents/guardians of all candidates must be absolutely clear at the time of filling the application form itself regarding the fees payable and the increases likely every year because the ability to meet all school expenses regularly is a prime criterion for granting of admission to Oakridge International.
- Parents/guardians must produce relevant certificates to prove their child has completed the level of schooling required prior to the class to which admission is sought.
- The age of candidates seeking admission to the Nursery class of Jyothi Public school must be at least three-plus on 1st June of the year in which admission is sought. Following from this, the minimum age for admission to every class thereafter goes up accordingly. The criterion for the minimum age to qualify for admission to any class is adhered to most strictly.
- The cut-off date for the minimum age to qualify for admission to any class is strictly 01 June of the concerned year.
- A candidate seeking admission to classes I and above, should score at least 40% in each of the two papers for the written test to be eligible to be invited for the personal interview.
